Ankle, heel & foot pain physiotherapy
एड़ी व टखने का दर्द
Sharp heel pain with your first steps in the morning, or an ankle that never felt right after a twist? Taping, mobility and strength work can help you walk comfortably again.
Heel pain is very common, especially in people who stand for long hours, have recently increased walking or running, or have gained weight. Plantar fasciitis — irritation of the thick band under the foot — typically hurts most with the first steps in the morning.
Ankle sprains are often brushed off, but a sprain that is not rehabilitated properly can leave the ankle weak and prone to twisting again. Balance and strength training are an important part of recovery.
What we commonly see
- Plantar fasciitis / heel painSharp heel pain with first steps in the morning or after resting.
- Ankle sprainPain and swelling after a twist, or an ankle that keeps “going over”.
- Achilles painPain and stiffness at the back of the heel, often worse in the morning.
- Flat-foot related painAching in the arch, ankle or shin with long standing or walking.
Signs physiotherapy may help
- Heel pain in the morning or after sitting
- Ankle swelling or instability after a sprain
- Pain at the back of the heel with walking or stairs
- Foot pain after long standing at work
See a doctor first if you have
- You cannot put weight on the foot after an injury, or there is a deformity
- Sudden pain at the back of the heel with a “pop”, like being kicked
- A hot, red, swollen foot or calf, especially with fever
If any of these apply, please get medical advice before starting physiotherapy. We are happy to work alongside your doctor.

More about the doctor →Good to know
Why does my heel hurt most in the morning?
With plantar fasciitis the tissue under the foot tightens overnight, so the first steps stretch it and cause pain. Gentle stretches before getting out of bed often help — we will show you which ones.
Do I need special insoles?
Some people benefit from insoles, many do not need them. We look at your feet and footwear first and suggest them only if they are likely to help.
My ankle sprain was months ago but still hurts. Is it too late?
It is not too late to work on strength and balance. We will also check whether anything needs a doctor's review or an X-ray first.
